Android Auto - does the steering wheel Speech button work with it?

Featured Replies

I can use the Microphone button on screen when I want to try to get Google to understand my Scottish accent but the steering wheel speech button switches me back to the Skoda screens. Is there something I need to change to get the button to work with Android?

This video says that it should work: https://youtu.be/qOED69oKmy8

It works for selecting next track, volume and VR.

Yeah works for me... I can pretty much ask it whatever... ie whats the weather like in Leeds. Whats the traffic like between x & y etc etc

I think long press is for android short press for skoda.

I'm on AppleCarplay and do voice activated commands via Siri.

Is Android Auto not a similar system i.e. no need to press any button just voice commands?

Long press works.

It's great for playing music. I've got a Google Play subscription so can just say 'play Highway to Hell by AC-DC' and off it goes.

Can also use for normal voice search type stuff like when you say 'ok google'.

Thanks all for the responses. It was the long press that fixed my issue.
