This may be true but this thread is about the same car and engine with just a different map. Both maps will have similar rev ranges and in all honesty most of the time the difference wouldn't be that noticeable, IMO of course.

I'd have thought that a Superb would be better with the high torque figure as most of the time you'll have the revs low(ish) but in a high gear and so would benefit from more pull low down.

Why not any other maps such as Celtic who have remapped a few fabias with great results and about £100 cheaper than those prices (and they come to you).

A car with 300Nm and 130bhp is not going to beat a car with 200bhp and 200Nm in a race. Sure' date=' if you're both travelling at 50km/h and you floor the 300Nm car, it will take off much faster than the 200Nm car, but you'll only be playing max with the torque at 130bhp at a low rev range, while the 200Nm car has 70bhp more to play with over a much wider rev range...therefore, once it picks up the momentum, it will zoom past you like a motha fukka

That definitly depends on how long the straights are.If you can catapult your car out of a corner on a wave of torque,a higher powered car with more bhp but less instant response can have a real hard job getting past.Ive seen it many times at race tracks.

It is interesting that Audi have chosen torque over horsepower for their new V12 5.5litre diesel Le Mans car.While the power is the same at 650bhp between the R8 and R10,torque for the R10 is over 1100Nm,about 400Nm more than the R8.Preliminary testing has shown the R10 to be considerably faster around a track than the old R8 even though its heavier.Along with better aerodynamics and cornering ability,torque makes a huge contribution to the R10's extra pace.

High torque in a heavy car like the superb will kill the clutch very quickly.

Simple - power to weight!

It all depends on how you drive, if you go round like some boy racer ar5e all the time ie maximum revs & minimum sense, then bhp is for you.

BUT for every day 'normal' driving, more torque would make for a less stressful (and lazier) drive.

Personally i would go with the torque, but at the end of the day the way YOU drive should be the deciding factor.
