Engine code and Chassis Number

Featured Replies

Hi - I know there is one of those visible, IIRC it's the VIN number,

Where do I find the engine code please?

I need to get this written into a modified vehicle report that I'd like to drop through the mail this evening, it would be really cool if someone could tell me :D

Many thanks in advance

BUMP - Got the number you can see through the windscreen. It looks like the VIN.

However the engine number must be hiding somewhere.

Mr Devonutopia - you may remember where it's hiding as you swapped the blasted thing out :D

May well be on your V5 logbook.

Ok - will have to start a hunt for that bit of paperwork :( :(

Thanks though :)

Engine code will be ASZ for a 130 bhp Fabia vRS.

I thought it was the engine number rather than the type he was after Ross.

He asked for the engine code, this is what denotes engine type and power.

For the engine number you will need to have a look on the V5 as mentioned before.

It is also on the sticker inside the front cover of the Service Schedule booklet and a similar sticker on the boot floor under the carpet.

Out of interest, is there a list of all vag engine codes...looking for polo 1.2 on a 52 plate..supposed to be a 64hp unit, but new 64hp unit feels much stronger....ok relative, it feels better.

Engine number was somewhere on the block - but it was tough to find. Much easier to find the V5. Oh, and if anyone ever plans a conversion, TELL the damn DVLA. Its something they will want to check and send off the paperwork to be altered. :)

Thanks everyone :)

Paperwork will be sent to the broker today, let's hope the quote doesn't scare me to death
