hi to all skoda owners, at the moment im driving a toyota rav4 and thinking of trading it in for a fabia vrs, i drove a 04 plate one today and i was well impressed with it, is there any specific prob i should be looking for or should i shell out the xtra for a brand new one, hope you can shed some light

Its up to you. They hold their price so well that if you can afford it, go for a new one. Mind you there is 10 to 12 week wait as most are factory order only. You could be lucky and find one on the National Search that your dealer should do for you. Good luck

There's 82 on Autotrader today, from

a good question FabMan!...i'm deliberating over the exact same thing @ the moment!....im leaning towards a used one '54' / '05' plate with just over 10,000 miles hopefully, so theres no need for me to run it in!...also these will have the revised rear lights & '1 touch' indicators which are a definate plus!...they also have slightly revised gear ratios apparently?!...thats the feedback I received from other members anyway!...i have Black as my 1st choice and still undecided between Silver & Red as my 2nd choice....edging towards Red @ the moment!

My opinion is that there's nothing quite like the feeling of picking up a new car, rather than a second hand one... Which is why I've had 2 new skodas in 2 years, a trend that I wont be repeating (because Ill be keeping the furby for a while yet)!

At the moment, you may as well go new if you can afford it.

You have 3 year warranty, all new bits, tyres, clutch, brakes etc.

The price of 2nd hand ones is still high relatively, so the saving isn't great.

Also don't worry about running in, I have driven it from new in a 'normal' way as many others have and after nearly 5K have used perhaps 1/3 ltr oil.

Oh and definitely get silver, check out the "my car is dirty" threads from black car owners. Mind mine is looking bad at the moment, especially the back, must be the best dirt collector car there is on the rear.:P

Go for the VRS, if you get a "good" one you'll be made up for months!

Check out the forsale forum - a few good'un's in there :D

Pre-modified ones are the way forward. Save you time and money and it's built so well it won't break :)
