Have now had the Superb for 3 months and loving it! Only niggle is I find it really difficult to select reverse.

 

Is it a quirk of the Skoda Gearboxes or do I need to get it looked at?

It is worth speaking to the dealer to arrange a visit to reset the gear lever connection.

It is a short easy procedure and has fixed other gear change issues on manual Octavia and I presume the Superb is near identical.

Mine is like that too.

Sometimes, when the engine is off, it will resist to go into reverse. When I start the engine it is much easier.

I will report it, too then

Mine was stiff when new i found... but it slacken off, (unlike yours)  - i never had it grinding a few times try to engage reverse.
