Front brake disc size on vRS models....

Featured Replies

Are the front brakes the same on the vRS models?

I'd read they were 340mm, but are the diesels the same as the 220/230 petrol models?

After looking at a few the discs/calipers looked bigger on a 230 I've looked at...

Thanks,

Steve.

Petrol has 340mm discs, the diesel has 312mm.

My Ex Diesel Vrs (63 plate ) had 340mm front discs.  It depends on what year/build week the car is...........

Thanks Gromle - I thought it might be something like that!

I've been looking at 16 plate models... so it might be that the newer model diesels have the smaller 312mm discs then...

Torn between a vRS DSG 4x4 diesel and a vRS 230 (head or my heart kind of choice...)

I went from a MKIII  Vrs Tdi to a 230. Best thing I ever did. I only do 5K miles a year so economy isn't on my wish list

Do it.....................

As much as I love having 4x4, Id still say get a petrol :)

Just to add, it's been reported/rumoured that the 230 actually chucks out about 250/260 bhp

I bought a pre-regd 16 plate vRS DSG 4x4 diesel, it's got the larger 340mm front discs. Guess it's pot-luck as to when it came out of the factory.

Really? Mine is a 16 plate TDI 4x4 vRS but has 312's...
