SEL Kodiaq vs SEL Superb spec ?

Featured Replies

I have only looked briefly, but the Superb SEL seems to have a better spec than the Kodiaq SEL. I realise they are different cars. But as an example the Superb gets full leather and the Kodiaq not.

Have others noticed this, or is it not a fair comparison?

I'm not sure if it's fair or not. Life is full of hard choices.

Latest model vs. old model?

Short car vs. long car?

Tall car vs. low car?

5 seats vs. 7 seats?

Petrol vs. diesel?

Manual vs. DSG?

2WD vs. 4WD?

As a happy Superb estate owner I'm going through a similar thought process. Do I? Don't I?

Kodiaq: 7 seats, leather, xenons but can't pull the top off a rice pudding (2000kg) or 5 seats, poverty spec, tiny engine but with a 2500kg tow weight! Interesting strategy....

Don't mix up what the manufacturer gave as the towing weights and are those on the cars plate and are the legal weights. Skoda built and sold a Fabia Mk2 vRS that was not allowed a towbar for towing to be fitted because they gave no weights for towing. The sister cars with the same engines gearboxes brakes and suspension can have a towbar. VW way, handicap the opposition even though you are the parent company

Offski - couldn't agree more, hence my first hands on Kodiaq investigation will be the weight plate on the door pillar!

And if I do order one it'll be a written condition that it's delivered with the capacity we ordered. If it were to arrive with the 2000kg limit then the dealer would need to know that we'd reject and walk away....

I'm glad I have no need to tow 2+ tons.

Makes my options easier.
