i've got a 2015 Se-L estate.

the boot shuts 95% of the time as expected - the only time it does not do it consistently is when doing the school run at 8:30 in the morning. i can remove the backpacks from the boot, shut it on at least 3 or 4 occasions then give up and give it a manual shove. any other location, or time of the day it shuts as planned.

parking area for school is levelish road. there are no visible obstructions.

 

any suggestions on how to fault find this - its so intermittent i don't fancy having to convince the dealer of the problem.

 

It may or may not be related but on odd occasions my hatchback boot stops before fully closing.

This seems to be because I'm standing too close, so I assume there's some kind of proximity sensor.

When I press the button again it opens. Press the button once more, take a step back or sideways, and it closes.
