Forensic Detailing Channel

Featured Replies

I have recently stumbled upon that channel and like it. His group tests I've seen on wash mitts, drying towels and waxes are very good.

A great review of Bilt-Hamber Laboratories products

I can't fault the BH stuff, tried their autofoam, medium clay bar, korrosol, cleanser fluid and surfer HD. All do superb jobs every time and are priced very competitively. Also like the FD channel.

I recently watched his review on snow foams. He doesn't seem to praise them highly, doesn't seem to think they remove anymore dirt than a good blast down with a decent power wash.

I used to be into detailing and for those not aware there is a very popular site/forum called detailing world  (  http://detailingworld.co.uk  ). The problem with many if not all detailing products is that many amazing results are claimed by manufacturers and retailers, but the bottom line is that few if any products are independently scientifically tested to either prove or disprove these claims. I have tried some very expensive products and found some absolutely terrible.

Great place to see whats current and whats good; also see whats over priced and over hyped.

Jon D who runs the Forensic Detailing channel is a top bloke and on the back of all these reviews,

he also takes the time to reply to any follow-up messages or PM's to add more info or clarify his conclusions.

Its a good resource and one i use regularly when researching possible purchases.

That's because they don't :peek: ...people expect way too much from snowfoam, a pre spray and rinse down before washing is far more effective...just doesn't look as good if the neighbours are watching you.

cheers

Personally I find snow foams effective. Krystal Kleen Detail Blizzard, Bilt-Hamber Autofoam & Carchem foam all work perfectly for me & if used correctly should work for other people. I wouldn't clean a car without it.

I also use a citrus prewash if heavily soiled.

I get on with Snow foam too. I thought it was a bit of a con until I used Bilt Hamber Autofoam. I've bought some Powermaxed TFR and its good. But I find Autofoam shifts just as much grime and takes less time to get it on the car, rather than applying TFR with a pump sprayer. Takes a few minutes longer. Both are effective for me, but Ben recommended BH AF can be used via a pump sprayer and is just as effective as a TFR. Horses for courses.

Certainly this time of year BH Autofoam is my snowfoam of choice.

Very effective in my detailing maintenance routine.
