1st Service.... Help Needed

Featured Replies

Hi

Wondered if I could get some opinions.

Just had what I laughingly call a first service at 9200 miles, the car was set to Variable (QI6 in the service book) but the dealer did record it as fixed and it was on their paperwork as fixed.

Looking at the car now it is showing the attached which to me still looks like Variable as it is not saying next service in 10,000 miles and to me it is saying that the next service is a repeat of this one which is just an oil change.  Looks dodgy too me, but the dealer is adamant that it is fixed servicing and the next service regardless will be a full service.  But then different people in the dealership tell different stories.

Also I heard other customers being given a service certificate to show what kind of service had been done, I have been given nothing apart from a visual health check report.

All in all I have no idea what they did to the car in the 2.5 hours they had it, albeit it was sat outside the front of the dealership for nearly an hour finished but the service team could not seem bothered to release it......  Personally will be glad to get the next two services out of the way as they are prepaid and then get back to my own independent garage who at least seem to give a better experience.

Thanks

The Leon which has been on a VAG service plan all I have received (at 3 services - 2 different garages) is an invoice for £0.00 saying what service was done, a visual health check form and a stamp in the service book. Expect to get similar with the Superb.

Thanks, out of that list though all I have is the visual health check form.

The picture of your display looks OK to me. It shows both variable and fixed service intervals but the important thing for me would be that the car will be asking for a service in 9,000 miles or this time next year, which ultimately is a fixed regime.

Ask the dealer for a paper copy of the invoice, even if it says £0.00 (pre-paid service plan) you should still get an invoice to put inside the wallet in the glovebox. All servicing is recorded electronically now but you should still get an invoice detailing what they've actually replaced.
