Major service

Featured Replies

Yesterday I had my 02 fabia in for a long-over-due service. Changed the ARB-brushes and temp sensor as well as clean and lube rear breaks and a new fog light as the old one was cracked. Also had the MOT-test done. (Or EU-test as its called in Norway) Cost me the grand total of 670 quid (8000NOK), but it was worth it! Feels like driving a brand new car!:D

It's amazing how good the Octi feels when it's been in for service. I think that there are lots of small faults which VAG Com picks up and adjusts the engine management to keep things going on sub-optimal settings, but without setting off the engine light on the dash. And new ARB bushes will make the whole front end feel tighter - mine certainly did! One other tip for making your car feel like new, is new tyres all round (not if they're only a year old, obviously). Alternatively, pump them up to 35psi or more, steering gets really light and rolling resistance if much lower. But not good in the rain or ice!!
