Octavia VRS CR TDI high mileage - High price?

Hi guys, 

 

been away from this forum for a while now as ive had different cars but im back now and looking at picking up a VRS.

 

I have seen a couple for sale on autotrader. My budget is £5000 and it seems to get the facelift model im looking at 140k miles car.

 

Now i have no problem with high mileage car as i know they are reliable but £5000 seems abit high? Or maybe this is the going rate?

 

Any help would be great!

Are the CR engines supposedly as reliable as the PD engines?

 

I guess these engines will go for 300k miles? as long as they are serviced correctly?

I've no idea but I've had the car you mention above although low mileage for a year with no issues at all.

I paid 10k for it with 30k miles.

I paid £8,500 for my 3 year old vrs with 113k on it. Now 5 years old and currently on 146k and servicing it every 10k miles. I plan on keeping this car at least 5 years and probably longer as long as it's still ok. Would like to think 300k miles is not impossible if looked after. £5k sounds ok for the mileage. There is a 2011 vrs on Autotrader for £3,795 but its done 231k.
