Any ideas NOx levels Mk 2 Fabia 1.4 Tdi

Featured Replies

Hi,

Looking to replace my 2008 Fabia estate 1.4Tdi, 90,000 on clock. Weighing up despite wonderful diesel torque to go for spaceback 1.2, 110bhp petrol. Want to weigh up environmental advantages. Can't find NOx level for 1.4tdi on (May) 2008 Fabia, on web or manufacturer. Maybe not tested then.

Any ideas?

Kota

DERVS are only smoke tested IIRC.

Euro 4, I think. Type-tested at less that 0.25g NOx per km.

Kota, Your diesel is Euro 4 and nox levels are not tested currently. If you mean, "what is the CO2 the diesel produces" it's 120grms. The 1.2TSI in my Fabia produces 108grms (it could be 110grms). If you go for a petrol with the 1.2TSI in it, you won't be disappointed. Not only is it more environmentally friendly (no nox) but the power output is very much higher than on your 1.4TDI, even if you have the 80ps model. In the Fabia, road tax is £20pa instead of £30pa. I too owned the 1422cc 80ps diesel estate. Fantastic car with 195nm of torque at 2200rpm. BUT...the 1.2TSI 110ps engine does have 175nm of torque and that's produced at just 1400rpm. It feels much more powerful than the diesel, and indeed it it. It drives just like a diesel too in terms of power delivery at low revs. In my Fabia it goes 0.60 mph in just 9.1 secs and 0.62 in 9.3. My diesel managed it in 13.2 secs for the 0.62 (Skoda figs). I'm finding fuel economy to be pretty much the same in general running around (50-52mpg) as my diesel was but on a run I'm getting 56-58mpg with a mix of roads. In my diesel I'd be getting 62-64mpg. But my petrol TSI still only has 1600 miles on the clock so it's tight and won't give it's best for another few thousands of miles. My last 1.6 petrol Fabia Estate managed 32-38mpg in general running around, 47mpg on a run. Petrol is definitely much more friendly to the environment now so don't hesitate to go petrol.

Hi,

Thanks for these useful posts.

Certainly looks like the 1.2 110 Spaceback to be considered seriously.
