Quartz Grey v Jungle Green

Well, after much deliberation we have decided to go with our original choice of Jungle Green. We liked the Quartz Grey but our current Yeti is Petrol Blue so in the end decided to choose a lighter colour for a change. Should match the Gobi sand interior well.

Order placed so waiting some idea of delivery time. Hopefully before end of March so it can be registered before the new, more expensive, VED rates come into effect.

Thanks for everyones contributions.

Jungle Green is on the front of the November 2016 brochure.

Yes its an easy colour to keep clean to.

Wife says she wants Black for her next new Yeti.  :|  I'm still undecided. As I'm the one who normally cleans it anyway.

Anyone out there with a Black Yeti.....speak up.   :coffee:

Personally I would go for another Jungle Green. SWMBO says no.

If SWMBO wants it she should understand that she will be responsible for keeping it immaculate 24/7 because it'll show ever flaw as it's a mirror.........if you're game that is )))))

We went to a supermarket this morning and more or less side by side was a Jungle Green and Quartz Grey Yeti. After a few minutes it was clear that we preferred the Quartz Grey, nothing wrong with Jungle Green it is just that we both felt that after a few years we might tire of Jungle Green whilst the Quartz Grey was more timeless. I think this was swayed by our previous experience with a Sahara Octavia that we initially liked but over the years tired of the colour. I guess deep down we prefer darker colours.

Anyway order changed to Quartz Grey.

Yes, but I am so 1946!

Incidentally I am buying this car direct from a dealer after using "Discounts on new SKODA" link at the top of the Briskoda web page. Better price than any of the internet brokers and Salesman was a pleasure to negotiate with.

Whilst I quite like the Quartz Grey we opted for a jungle Green, one of the reasons was we liked the Jungle Green and Brown interior and also there are just so many Grey cars around. Just our choice.

I know what you mean about an abundance of grey cars but the Quartz Grey has a definite tinge of blue/green about it that seems to set the colour off well on the Yeti shape and also fits in with Gobi Sand interior. Our current Yeti is Petrol Blue and that suits the Gobi sand interior well; in truth the outside colour is so remote from the inside that I don't think it matters what colours you choose.

As you say it is all a matter of choice, problem we found was being able to see the Yeti in the different colours available. The colour globes and swatches don't really work as you need to see the colours on the car you are choosing. Different shape cars seem to work with some colours and not others, hence our driving around supermarket carparks!

One reason I am buying another Yeti is that there are so few competitors around with such a light interior. So many have black interiors and coupled with the trend for small rear windows render the inside funereal. Black might not show the dirt but I have never found Gobi sand interiors difficult to keep clean, a quick wipe over and infrequent use of a simple leather cleaner has kept it looking almost like new.

We had a black Yeti. It looked really good when fully clean, but after a few minutes of driving, it looked dirty again, so black went on the forbidden list for Yeti #2. On the other hand, the Gobi interior was great, much less funereal than black and in many ways looks cleaner since it's more tolerant towards light dust bits.

Saw a black Yeti today - I see what you mean, shows every mark, you would have to clean it every day and that would soon become really boring - then your black Yeti would look like the one I saw today!

O dear, O dear.

Gotta eat my words...

So we ordered a new Yeti. Wanted it for March delivery.

Dealer said only car available for a 3 week delivery is Grey

So it has to be.

Car duly arrived 1st March.

We now have a Stunning Quartz Grey Yeti SE Drive.

Words eaten, I think this is a lovely colour.

Fitted as standard on the Drive are the 17" Matterhorn Alloys.

These are very nice, & seems quieter than the 16" on my greenline.

Ok so 2 weeks in, Fab.

Greys go with all trim styles eg the black and chrome/silver.

To me, white and chrome don't complement each other and the black bits disappear on a black one.

What tyres are fitted? I have found that road noise is almost entirely tyre make & tread pattern dependent. My winter tyres are Nokian D3's, superb winter tyres but much noisier than the summer Goodyear efficient grips. Just put the Efficient grips back on and really notice the quieter ride. Picking up new Yeti next week so will be interested to see what tyres are fitted.

I have heard good things about Michelin Cross Climates, claimed to give a smooth and quiet ride but I has anyone got them on a Yeti? If so would like to hear your views.

EPM, Pirelli P7- 17". spec seems to be Fuel E - Wet B - DB71- Seem to have very good reviews. But don't all tyres get good review when new?

Seem a lot quieter than the Michelin's on my Greenline. 16"

Here you go, Marmite.

Our outgoing A3 is Black, looks lovely clean but soon looks dirty.  I've never in the past had problems with bird droppings except on this car.  Had to in the end buy some G3 as it was so bad.  Not sure I'd ever have black again.
