Does Fabia has problem with reverse horn?

Featured Replies

Hi Friends,

I am new here.

I own a 2011 model SKODA FABIA - DIESEL.

I was trying to install a reverse horn to this car.

But I was told by the horn supplier not to install it in Fabia, as he has experienced couple of Fabias getting into wiring issues soon after installation

He claims this complaint from the customers was only received from Fabia owners.

He also says, he does not have this problem when he installed the reverse horn with Maruti Suzuki Swift or Fiat Punto.

Someone help me on this. Need clarification.

Being a new user of cars, it is really pathetic at times when I try to reverse the car.

Regards,

Maha

Not heard of a reversing horn before! Pretty sure they don't exists on Skoda's or have the wiring to do so(in Europe at least). Can I ask why you cant just use the normal front facing horn if you need to warn people of your impending reverse manoeuvre?

I have no idea about rest of the world drive.

Here in India, we used to connect a reverse horn (backing up tone) to warn people.

We used to connect it to the reverse light provided.

Trucks and buses here do have a warning noise when reversing, cars don't usually.

I'd think that if Fabia etc had problems with a horn being connected to the reversing light, then the smart way round that is to use a slave relay for the horn and use the reversing light supply to switch the coil of that relay - can you get a lower power demanding sounder instead of a traditional horn will  use a lot of current, I do mean a lot!

Yes, it's the canbus that causes the issues.
