Fabia 1.2 sparkplug access!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Could I have some indication of how to access the spark plugs of my fabia sedan 1.2 12v?

Thanks in advance,

Charles Cachia

remove engine cover (prior to this remove tiny rubber hoses to airbox) and a sharp tug upwards is needed to remove the cover... it will come off even though it feels it won't, unclip coilpacks (very carefully) and spark plugs are accessed as normal onece these are removed.

I think you might have to explain to the dieselheads what a coil pack is, otherwise they'll all want some, to get a few extra BHP.

in all honesty i dont have a clue! just know thats what the connectors are called where the spark plugs are!!

Oh nd please ignore red circles on pic... they were showing someone how engine cover was fitted.

well i found the power steering was a little more difficult to get to than the spark plugs... so needed to move the side panel out of they way :D (got to look on the bright side really!)

The pic in Richard's post doesn't display in my browser. Are the coil packs on top of the cylinder head ?

Yes the coil packs go through the top of the cam cover.

Here you can find some photos taken from different angles of my 1.2 Fabia engine ;)

I hope it helps! Especially the first photo...

Hi,

I would still like to know how to remove the coilpacks. Do I lift them out one by one and if so how does one grip the individual coilpack for removal, or do I simply unbolt their carrier and lift all three as a whole???

Waiting eagerly for a decent reply,

Charles

ooo get you.

The coil packs pop up individually, its not rocket science, quite easy.
