Positioning motor for temperature flap

Featured Replies

Hi

Not certain if i'm allowed to start another thread in relation to my heater problem.

My heater on my 2006 vrs only blows hot. It a pre face lift so aircon not climate.

Its showing fault code 01271 which apparently is a fault on the above.

Where do i find this motor, is it accessible.

The car is not worth much as it has 125k on the clock so its not worth spending loads of money on it.

Any help would be good as i really enjoy the car and dont want to get rid of it.

In my octavia if turning down all of the noises to minimum, like radio or fan, i was actually able to hear the flap motor moving when turning the heater control from maximum to minimum and vise versa.

The sound of the flap motor was coming somewhere behind the dash.

For more details you may have some luck finding them somewhere in here: Workshop Manuals

Has anyone had experience of fixing this. Will it be a job for some with arms the size of pencils and 8 inch long fingers

There must be some on here who have some experience.  I will have a look at what I can find online in manuals, I think it is all buried behind the glovebox area. I have no practical experience of the replacement. My post bump might also bring some response.....

I'm a bit surprised no one else has had this problem.

I had another 100 mile trip the other day with the heating on full it was uncomfortable as it was so hot.

I would rather get this sorted asap ideally before summer.

Ideally its something that can be fixed cheaply due to the value of the car

If it's the same as my fault, there're two motors: one can apparently be gotten to by taking off the glovebox, the driver's side is a susspected dashboard off job.

For RHD cars, instructions are:

Switch off ignition and all electrical components.

Remove storage compartment on passenger side.

Remove left footwell vent.

Disconnect plug connection at motor.

Unscrew screw (at bottom below connector) and unhook control motor from catch (opposite corner).

Slightly turn the motor and unhook from control cable of temperature flap.

Installation is reverse...

Supposed to test/set up with VCDS or similar after new motor is installed.

Can't help with that just now.Bandwidth issues mean my normal parts look-up site isn't working for me at all.

Try www.realoem.me or wait for someone else to wade in; or try to eyeball your current one.

Don't think so, no.

Think it may be 1J2907511F, but wait for someone else to confirm or disagree; really struggling on the edge of the Internet.

Practice getting to it, and use phone camera to get part number off existing one?

Thanks for that.

How does the glovebox come off so that i can get access to see how griefy it will be to remove it

I think you picked 1U which is mk1. The site I use I don't get that info so it's pot luck . (And I picked the wrong one).

On the 1Z/mk2 I think it's 1k2907511c, according to that last page I linked. I think...
