Need some advice on how to remove the boot/gaiter around the gearstick as i want to change the gearknob from the stock one to a different one. in order to remove the stock one the gaiter/surround needs to pop out but i cant seem to figure it out

 

any info appreciated!

Grip the back edge of the trim using the gaiter and pull upwards. 

What you need to do is pull upward on the gaiter and use a small flat scerwdrive to release the clips all around the gaiter with the gaiter out of the way release the clip at the bottom of the gear stick and pull up to remove it with it off you will see 3 clips release them and the gaiter will come away from the gear knob
