For those of you considering the 1.6TDI

Featured Replies

I picked mine up yesterday and I must say it performs better than I thought it would.  It's no racing car but is perfectly happy keeping up with traffic and doesn't feel slow at all, and I'm sure as I gain more miles (currently at 80 miles!) it will become even better.

Loving it so far:).

Cheers,

Ricky

Dont forget to upload some photos :-)

I found my 150 tdi performed better after 2000 miles..

Enjoy !

I can echo what rickyang said, I've had mine since last Monday and covered about 400 miles. Tt goes very well for a 1.6 DSG diesel. Mine's a company car but that doesn't alter how smooth it is to drive.

Agree with you on the 150tdi.  Mine is opening up well now and the suspension is only settling in too.  I have 3k kms on the clock at the moment.  Regarding the 1.6tdi, I would definitely agree that its more than adequate (I've actually driven a few of the new 120bhps) and I would be very happy with it if I wasn't used to the 150 (and 170 previously).  Still a bit noisier than the 2.0 150 though.  Perfect for motorway driving though.

Mine's a 1.6TDI (manual) - will be 1 year since collection on Wednesday and about to hit 31,000 miles and have found it to be a very capable engine (from my limited experience of various cars anyway)!  Sits easily at 70 along the dual carriageway every day and has enough left (if you drop a cog) to give a boost if needed.

Plus, as you'll see from my Fuelly footer, reasonably efficient too!
