I wanted to buy a dash kit for my Fabia, but thorght them to deer for what thay are:thumbdwn:

So i striped my vents and ashtray down, keyed them with wet'n'dry, and spayed then with Plasticote silver paint with a satin lacker.

IMHO it looks better than the shiny bubble type plastics some companys use as a 'kit'.:P

Not my cup of tea to be honest but then I'm 34, don't wear a shell suit, burberry or a baseball cap and my enitre collection of Bling amounts to a gold wedding band.

If you like it then good for you - doesn't matter what I think.

Pheeeeeew.....Stinging Stu!!!! I actually think its not bad, ;) looks a bit Peugeot...ish. But who am I to judge. I wear tracksuit bottoms all day !!:D

I kinda like it.

i like it  may be tempted to do it when my vRS arrives.... and no offence intended at all as i know its ur car and pride and joy etc. just think they would look better in a newer fabia with all black dash, not your older one with mix of greys and blacks, but great idea and looks prof.

Didn't you fancy doing around the heater controls/ stereo?

I thought about doing the same this summer but i'd have to get a spare set of plastics in case i don't like it

Looks better than the thick stick on stuff

I thought about doing this a while ago. Not sure about the ashtray. WHat about the small demister vents on the dash?

nah wasn't trying to be catty about it I just don't like the silver dash setup. Looks like a citroen or peugeot as said above.

I like like my plain old boring black stuff.

Looks good I like it :)

Interior could do with a clean though ;)

I would have done the demister vents, but you can't remove the from the car and i didn't fancy taking a spraycan to the dash!

I would like to have an all black dash, but can't find one at the moment.

One day!

I'm on the look out for a half leather Recaro interier at the moment, so i might have ago spraying the gray trim if i can remove it without breaking it!

Its not something I'd do as I like Black, black and black (maybe some dark grey) for my interior, but I think you've done a good job by the looks from the pics!

Nice one!!

Bobz

From the look of your picture it wouldn't be too hard to sort your dash out to all black. You don't need a dashboard just a glovebox and some panels I think.

There is a scrapper for parts on ebay that might help.

I didn't mean to offend you with my earlier post, I hope you take it in the light hearted way it was meant.

Hats off to you for giving it a go mate. Certainly 'freshens' the look of the dash, but not something I would attempt personally.

VRStu, no offence taken. If you can't have a laff, what can u do? ;):D

Im keen on shell suits anyway but my grand parents like them!

Chavtastic!

I might ask that Ebay bloke how much for the trim panels, tho i no the lower dash trim under the wheel is a real pain to take off from trying before, and not being abull too.:duh:

Dose anyone no how to remove that panel?:D

The one under the steering wheel?

VRStu. I'm 39 and I think it looks okay.

One thing I thought when looking at a Fabia vRS (I realise the one in the pictures isn't a vRS) recently was that it needed something extra on the dash. There's just this bland expanse of dark plastic and it needs some contrast. Especially considering the vRS is the sporty model. :)

The dash comes out suprisingly easy as I turned mine from beige into grey and it's all just held in with T20 screws I think and then the panels overlap.

Also, if you have no luck with eBay, try www.skospares.com as they supplied me with a couple of missing grey bits for my replacement dash for nowt :D

lots of the cars on the fabia club.cz have similar.

not all as subtle as silver tho.

I like it .

I think it looks wrong - the silver just adds another colour to the already mish-mashed colour scheme. Perhaps its just that photo but the whole interior looks like it has been coloured at random.

I like it, need to do the gearstick surround too, though.

Why didn't you buy a vRS? Can have the power behind the looks then.

Nice work!

Think it looks good!

Brightens up the interior and looks like a good quality job.

Regardless of whether the colour scheme is good/bad, from the pics it looks like the respray/colouring itself is done very well

Must admit I'm quite happy with the bland dash etc in the car as I try to entertain myself mainly by looking out of the windows & mirror + SWMBO if wearing a nice outfit LOL ;)

I've seen a LOT worse than this though, for some reason a yellow/black fake carbon look in a Sierra springs to mind (one of those topgear vids IIRC) - you're leagues ahead of that :)
