Featured Replies

Anyone have these to hand please?.............There will be two different part numbers required.

And note which one is the two required, and which the one?

Cheers guys.

Relying on Horton Skoda for these now.

Although the parts dept sent the incorrect one last time, they soon rectified this and sent the correct one at no further charge. I never thought I would be doing this job again so threw the paperwork.

I have ordered all three (2+1) this time by giving them the console part number and asked them to supply the bolts for this part.

Very helpful, and posting at no extra charge. £9.35 inc.

If you are wondering why only one side is being done, see other post.

I will post part numbers if / when they come correct.

1 off SN91039802 @ £3.89 + rot.

2 off SN10560702 @ £1.95 + rot, each.

I guess these will be Dennis Horton & son's own (internal) part numbers though, as opposed to Skoda's.

Thanks to Mat J in their parts department for a swift service as I only ordered them yesterday, received today.

Nope, standard VAG part numbers.  Just with an S in front of the ones on e.g. this page for a 2010 Octy2 (items 24, 5 respectively) which probably just denotes Skoda? Quantities shown are per car, not per side.

For anyone else looking, Febi part number 39231 is the set of three bolts needed per side. You may be able to get those for £5-6 per set.

Slightly worried now, as the part number for item 5 (for 2006) shows 10579702 as opposed to the supplied 10560702.

I will have to get under the car to see if they are long enough.

I didn't spot that. Maybe a superseding thing. The knock off ETKA sites are usually a tad out of date.

Hmm, plot thickens. If you search the N 10560702 number you end up with a bolt going through the same component, but on a different ETKA page, item 31 here (mounting parts for engine and transmission). Internal contradiction between pages, as far as I can see? I wonder which is right... 6mm difference in length.

Oh dear, if that's right then the OP hasn't got the right ones. :crying:

Cheers Guys

The two smaller bolts supplied may be shorter than the original ones fitted, but the original ones stick through the other side of the chassis by around 15mm.

I have sprayed some maintenance spray on the protruding threads ready for next week.

I will have a word with the fitter regarding this but I cannot see any issue with this or any reason why they would need to be quite as long as they are originally. I'm sure they will be fine.

The larger one does not stick through.

If I'd had the Febi part number for the set I would have purchased them. Under a fiver on ebay. Never mind.

Very simple, they stick through in case of someone  destroyed  the thread! So you  can add  a nut

That does kind of make sense, but I doubt that is the reason the bolts are so long tbh. :)
