Phone Contacts - Updating Profile Picture of Favourites...

 

So, I have my android phone set up where contacts in my phone have a profile picture pulled from facebook or the likes..

 

The infotaintment is fine with this and profile pictures are displayed for contacts for the ones i have set as favourites  -- (all going to plan)

 

However, when a contact changes their profile picture on FB, my phone contact on my device auto updates this picture as you would expect... (all going to plan)

 

However, the img profile pic on the infotainment system does not refresh the next time the phone is connected (must be stored in cache.)

 

Therefore, logically thinking, all you would need to do is going into settings and re-import all contacts again to refresh the profile picture - tried this and the old picture is still displayed on the favourite.

 

The only way i have found to refresh the profile pic is to delete the favourite and read again -

 

Surely there must be a re-sync process to follow to save the hassle of deleting and re adding ?

 

Any tips ?

Hi Rick i had the same issue today and can confirm this can be done.

The fix is to change the pic on the mobile to your choice (i used android)

Update your contacts for the phone

Overwrite the favorites you need to change by holding down on old pic and adding same contact.

 

This worked for me hope it helps.

I just reread you post and realised that's how you were doing it by readding the favourites already, apologies for not reading the post properly.

Yeah. That was the only workaround i have found so far.
