Dash display symbols

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am just getting used to my 'New' 2014 Elegance Greentech and have noticed that whenever the ignition is first switched on, next to the odometer readout, there are 2 strange symbols displayed that I can find no mention of in the handbook.

They are like an upside down letter 'U' with an inverted smile at the base of each. See the attached picture.

As soon as the car starts, they disappear.

Can anyone one enlighten me as to what they mean?

Something to do with the front seats, I think. My guess is that they show that both front airbags are active.

I've been wondering what they were for as well!

Means the rear seat belts are not fastened.

Yep, they change slightly when someone's fastened in the back.

Yay! Every day's a school day! :)

+1 for the rear seats, they show what belts aren't fastened then they go off after a few seconds, part of an NCAP standard test consideration for every car these days.
