DSG oil change, mpg improved

Featured Replies

I had an DSG oil change carried out on Tuesday, now happily my MPG seems to have improved, getting approx 50mpg over the same 12 mile route, whereas before it was approx 46mpg. I presume that old oil was getting tired, the service log book didn't show an oil change had been carried out and the car had completed 54000 miles, Skoda couldn't say it was done either.

The dealership where I bought the car, Murray's of Plymouth agrred paid for the service.

This is supposed to be done on a 40 000 mile interval based on other posts on this subject.

Sounds like an excellent result and the mpg sounds like proof of lubrication/more efficient gear changes.

Also, good that the dealer covered it - but I think that its only right that they did. If they sold the car, they should have checked as it#s meant to be done at 40K miles.
