O3 MFSW with paddles into O2 preFL DSG

Featured Replies

Hi,

I currently own a PreFL O2 DSG from 2007, and have recently bought a MFSW from an O3 (5E0419091AQ HTH). I know there have been a few topics about it, but haven't found all the necessary information. Any help would be appreciated about what parts are needed for it to fit, and to get all the buttons working. Also is there anything needed for the paddles to work? Steering wheel should arrive in 10 days, it'd be great if i got every info about it by then.

thanks

Hi,

I'm really interested in doing this too. My car is the same year. I'd love to hear your results.

So far, I think the shopping list will be:

  • MFSW
  • Steering wheel control interface (The high end one. Mine has cruise control but not the MFSW so it only has the middle range interface)
  • MaxiDOT instrument cluster, if you don't already have one.
  • Possibly a cruise control stalk, if not already fitted.
  • VCDS, if you don't already have it. This things is going to need to be coded.

All the best,

Paul.

you need superb 2 buttons and an airbag.

depending on what the car already has fitted depends on other parts required

Is the maxidot needed for a MFSW swap or does it depend on the wheel

your putting on

want to do mine but don't have maxidot ?

id be going for the same wheel as I have though, just with the MF added

was told I need the wheel, slip ring and wiring but never knew about the maxidot ?

Good point about the airbag. I think, if the old and new wheels are the same number of spokes, you can use the original airbag but you need a different one if the number of spokes is different.

"i think" is a big issue when asking for advice.

mk2 airbag DOES NOT fit any mk3 wheel

Thank you. That is good to know.

That's the reason I said "I think" rather than to present my incomplete understanding as fact.

I have done the conversion if you see my project thread.

It requires new wheel.airbag and superb steering wheel switches.

If you don't have a mfsw already it will require coding and other parts depending on what year/spec the car is.
