Hoping you can help me, I'm looking to get a set of wheel for my combi (14reg).

What's the best size width and diameter to fit.

I will be lowering the car on coilovers.

 

Any help will be appreciated.

What is fitted now?

Standard 18" wheels. 225/40 tyres.

What do you want, bigger rims, or smaller rims, or wider and still drop it, and how low, for show or go or as a practical car?

How low are you going?

i dont want to go to low or or to big of a wheel as i want to keep it practical but look good at the same time.

at first i thought of getting 20"x9.5"or10" but i don't think they will fit and the ride would be rubbish as there would be harldly any tyre plus they will mess with the speedo etc.

i will be lowering it by about 30-40mm it all depend on what size wheels i get.

do you have any suggestions on what size will fit.?

Those are the standard sizes - I think you should forget about putting 20"

why do you say forget about them, comfort or fitment?

20" would be overkill and like you said - not enough rubber and probably would be too wide to fit.

Why not start with the lowering of the car, and take it from there. Your current 18" wheels are nice and suits the car and your needs as is, and will work perfect on the lowered car. Then you can decide if you want another rim style, different width and so on.
