Octavia III Carpet

Featured Replies

Hi All

i have a 2 year old L&K automatic estate.

i have noticed that the carpet to the right of the accelerator pedal is wearing through. My size 10s are obviously at fault!

it has got to the stage where my fit is now catching the hole. Has anyone replaced this bit of carpet? Is it available and is it a major job?

Thanks

Garnett

Big job, carpet is one whole piece I think. Time for floor mats methinks!

I wore a hole in my drivers mat.  Replaced it with heavy duty rubber ones.

Carpet mats underneath (clip in) then rubber mats on top B)

A specialist trimmer (who works on Classic cars) could probably stitch a new piece of carpet into that area.

Should be cheaper than changing the whole carpet, which would be a seats out centre console out job.

My 2014 Octavia Elegance DSG has done the same thing - worn out the carpet next to the throttle pedal.

Never happened on my previous L&K (2010) but then that had the organ pedal throttle which was much more comfortable.

Car goes back to the leasing company in July - woder if they will consider this fair wear and tear?

A healthy strapping of good quality black duck tape would probably work. "Been on there since new , just to protect the carpet sir"
