No More Jungle Green

Featured Replies

I've just ordered a 1.4TSI L&K on pch, ready for the end of my current pch contract at the end of May. After hours of wondering whether to go for Jungle Green or not, I decided I would - only to be told by the dealership (yesterday) that the colour has been discontinued. To be replaced by 'Emerald Green' at some point I was told. So I've gone for Cappuccino, since I think that will go with the brown leather reasonably well.

I have an Octavia Scout 150ps at the moment, which I like a lot, but I wanted to move from diesel and the pch deal on the Yeti (a car I've always liked anyway) was irresistible given the kit loaded on the car - especially the panoramic roof and the bi-zenons. And it's one of very few (affordable) 4x4 petrols at the moment with decent bhp. I trail a small boat, and all wheel drive is needed to guarantee safe launch and recovery on slippery slipways. I know I'll take a hit on fuel consumption, but the monthly saving I'll make on the pch cost easily outweighs that.

I'm doing exactly the same thing as you and for similar reasons too, the current PCH deals on Yeti's are pretty hard to beat compared to a PCP type deal on an Octavia. I was in Glasgow yesterday signing the lease documents on my new Yeti which I collect next Wednesday, the car is sitting in their compound just now looking rather fetching in Business Grey which suits the silver wing mirrors very well. It should look good in Cappuccino too, I've had that colour for the last 3.5 years with my Octavia and whilst not really my first choice it is an amazing colour in the way that even after weeks and sometimes months of not washing my car, it never really looked dirty!

The dealer had actually changed the lease deal from what we agreed upon last year but it is actually much cheaper overall, just a slightly higher deposit to pay and the monthly payments are just over a £100 PCM, amazingly cheap for what you get.

I loved the look of the green but could not convince the other half so I went for the metallic brown. Was not convinced until I saw one in the showroom in that colour.

mine is due end of May as well

Shocker :o

And red is gone too!! I had ordered my new car in red but this is also gone, so changed to black

Recently replaced my Yeti Outdoor in Jungle Green with another in Cappucino. The Jungle green was a great colour but did seem to change it's hue in varying light. The new one looks good and seems to stay the same colour in all lighting conditions. It also doesn't show the dirt as much!

I must have got in before the lock a couple of weeks ago. Happy days. The first time I have ever had the same car twice, just a colour change.

I wonder how long the touch-up paint's going to be available?  Anyone got any recommendations for reasonably priced versions?

You can still get touch up for colours that have been out of production for over a decade.

Touch up paint can be obtained in aerosols from decent auto paint factors for cars decades old. Just give them the paint code. I got them for a 1972 Rover V8, 1974 Ford Escort, and 1976 Opel Manta in recent years.

Very happy with our Cappuccino 1.4 L&K.  It replaces a 2.0 TDI the same colour.  As said, works well with the brown leather and looks clean, even when dirty.  Not a 'striking' colour, but a very 'safe' one for a workhorse.  Also, absolutely no regret with engine choice.  My only regret is that it isn't available as a DSG.  8 months after the TDI it does still catch me out and 'bog down' if I don't give it enough revs pulling away.  However once the turbo is spooled up above 1500 rpm it has similar torque to the old 110 TDI, but with far more oomph if you rev it.  This means it will (reluctantly) pull from 30mph in 6th and from 50+ you don't really need to change down at all to make rapid progress.  I will probably never go back to diesel now.

Same here john.

Had a Jungle Green for almost 3 years & changing to the 2Ltr In Quartz Grey

I have considered the Yeti to be exactly what we require, & going for a new one before Yeti's end. Do not like the shape of these new SUVs at all. Small rear windows & low headroom.

Got our "SE Drive" pick up on Wednesday, after only a 3 week wait.

Jungle green is/was a great colour.  Only reason for us to choose another colour is this Quartz Grey was available within 3 weeks.

Just seen another Yeti same colour & we are happy with the choice.

At just under 6"6" with a dodgy back and left side, the Yeti is the perfect compromise for us, my wife likes a small automatic due to her lack of confidence, and I need head and leg room. We tried a lot of cars last month but the Yeti was the best for us, I liked the Hyundai Santa Fe and wife liked the Qashqai, (but not as much as a Yeti) I found the Nissan a generic fugly faux four by four clone, and it didn't fit me as well as the Yeti. This meant my wife got to choose colour, hence Jungle Green, I wanted Moon White or the colour our old Roomster was, Cappuccino Gold, as that never looked dirty.
