Where is Speed limiter option for Octavia Elegance

Featured Replies

I have just got my Octavia Elegance (Dec 2013) 1.6TDi tonight. I am wondering if anyone can help me to find the speed limiter option in this car. I know it has cruise control and i figured out how to set it up but where is SPEED LIMITER option? efore this car i had citroen C4 1.6HDI VTR+ (55reg)..and it has three functions under cruise control...cruise control, speed limiter and other one i forgot. I'll be really upset if this car hasn't got this feature because it was one of my favourite features and that's why i have never had any speed fine. it was very easy to set and unset with one click by left thumb on the steering wheel's button.

Might be wrong, but I've never heard of that on an octy. Looks like you might have to learn to drive properly! ;)

Don't think such thing exist, only speed limit exceeded warning if you have maxi dot

MKIII Octy has speed limiter fitted, but none of the MKII Octys have it as far  as I'm aware.

It was fitted to the Fabia courtesy car I had, which i mistook for Cruise Control, (which it didn't have) which took some getting used to. I kept wondering why my speed kept dropping!

Totally heart broken....what the hell shall i do with just f  k  n  g cruise control..i needed that feature driving in the city. I got used to it with my previous car. I miss you my Citroen C4. It had lots of features that this 10,000 pounds car never can imagine to have them.

If your car is a December 2013 model, it's a MK3 not a MK2 so you'll get better responses in the MK3 section.

The manual covers the cruise control system, if your car didn't come with a manual, there is an online version here. You might want to check out the "Warning at excessive speeds" section on page 31, although it won't limit your speed it can warn you if you exceed a set speed.

In response to your other thread:

- DRL's activation/deactivation is covered on page 55 of the manual above

- I believe it's a single CD player, if you want more music you'll need to put it on an SD card, the headunit manuals can be found here

- There is no automatic opening for the boot lid, the button is working correctly to unlock it

Hopefully you'll learn how to correctly control your speed without too many speeding tickets :)

The Octavia has been in production since 1996 and during that time plenty has changed.

The MK1 (1U chassis) came out in ~1996.

The MK2 (1Z chassis) came out in ~2004, it had a midlife facelift so there are pre-FL and FL models.
The MK3 (5E chassis) came out in ~2013, a facelift has been announced and can be ordered but I don't think any are on the roads yet.

This is a MK1:

This is MK2 pre-FL:

If it was that important to you, did you not think it wise to check it actually controlled the speed in the way you wanted it to before you bought it, on the test drive, maybe?

Instead of coming on a forum and sl4gging your car off, for a mistake you have made, or not doing your homework! :speechless:

I am sorry you haven't got what you wanted, especially as it seems to have gone up a grand, too.

Thank you Langers2k for the explanation. So my car falls in MK3 as it was first registered on 2nd December 2013. I will carry on posting MK3 then.

to Tilt, I am a novice about the car world. I checked everything that I needed to check. I made it sure that this car has Cruise control but couldn't imagine that speed limiter would not be the part of it. as I said you, my Citroen C4 had cruise control, speed limiter and another feature all in under cruise control.

Now I have to learn to live without it.

With my extremely limited experience of the speed limiter I found using it caused my right ankle to suffer a severe ache due to having to keep a lot of pressure on the accelerator. If I eased off, the Fabia lost speed quite quickly. This was whilst driving through the ASC controlled 50mph zone of the M74.

Also there are times whilst driving, even in town, where it is much better to accelerate than to brake, not an option you would have with the speed limiter activated.

My 230 has a speed limiter, the vocal type, Mrs G, you get my drift..........

The End
