Fabia mk1 rear door leaks.

Featured Replies

A while ago I did the door seal fix. Prior to this fix I would see water on the door threshold when the rear door was opened, this is now corrected.

In addition to this I had a blocked drain hole on the sun roof so I corrected this too.

Recently I noticed the rear passenger foot well was damp. I pulled back seat out and a puddle of water was near the threaded pillar as shown.

I pulled the rubber threshold strip up and it was wet underneath so applied silicone in the grove and pushed the strip down.

Has anyone had this problem before as I don't know for sure if it's a fix. Water must be tracking over the strip. I did notice that on the strip there are holes however a couple hadn't been popped out on the rubber strip so I corrected this.

Thank you for reading this.

A little way (30cm?) up from that threaded pillar - strapped to the loom bunch that goes up there - is another one of those genius connections in the rear screenwash pipework.  Check that it is fully engaged and not leaking screenwash.

Thanks, yes checked that and it's good.

When you resealed the carriers, how far up the rear edge of the carrier did you seal?

Morning. Half way up each side. Although didn't cover rivets.

Before the reseal of the carrier however, when I opened the door, water would be on top of the black rubber seal as you look at it. There is no longer water like that now so hopefully cured that bit?
