Whilst I'd love a set of aftermarket wheels, the cost, plus insurance hike, plus added paranoia of someone trying to nick 'em doesn't bode well. 'Least, not at the moment. Some black paint and a lowering looks on.

As for the 'taste' comments. Well, I could be really radically different and stick some Audi/VAG alloys on it, but I wouldn't want to start a trend...

I don't like the black alloys personally, looks like the hub caps fell off. Fair play for trying something new though. Someone painted their calipers red, was a thread yesterday, maybe you could change the colour of yours?

Don't let others put you off, I had a few negative comments re my wheels (on here)until people have seen them on the car.

Everybody thankfully has different taste, it's a shame they can't all be constructive when replying.

I think they also would look stunning on a yellow car but I purchased them from a guy with a yellow car who didn't like them.

Hey, you've seen the mock up now. If you think it looks good - go for it.

I keep toying with the idea of getting my standard vRS wheels powder coated in white. Can't afford a new set of 17's or I'd get some white ones.

If I didn't have to have the car out of action while they're coated I probably would have done it by now. If you like the look, who cares what others are saying? Thats how I feel.

I was going to change my wheels for 17's have decided to spend the money elsewhere on the car, but I will be getting my standard wheels made anthracite in the next couple of months just gotta find a decent (not too expensive) place to do it.

As has been said before if you like something do it, it's your car and you driving it so be proud. I changed my skoda badges for vRS ones, not many people liked it but it didn't stop me.

I was toying with the idea of getting black wheels aswell but in the end I opted for silver ones, mainly because the black ones I wanted were too expensive (pro race). I am really pleased with the look of my wheels but am surprised how good the originals look in black! You could go for the "dark destroyer" look and tint the windows aswell! It's up to you what you do with your car but it's always good to get a different view point on things aswell I find:thumbup:

Maffu, I have a suggestion.

Instead of going black all the way, why don't you do this.....get your rims chromed or silver, and the spokes all black magic??

Like Decron said, full black wheels may be a bit much for a black car, but if you add contrast, then you have a whole new story to tell.

Oooh no no no, the all black ones look sooo sweet. dont really like the silver rims thing, only seems to work on split rims but even then i dont think it looks particularly great, I used to have some black split rims with a polished rim on my MR2 Turbo and was never really happy with them - it makes the wheel look smaller somehow.
