"Anyone done it? Know someone who's done it? Are they able to provide a photie or two to see what it looks like?"

Well, I take back my goodwill compliment ! *dissapointed smiley*

Funny seeing this thread today as my red furby got really manky this week and while washing it today I pondered not cleaning the wheels as I thought it looked quite cool when the body was shiny red again but the wheels were almost black :)

When I had a red megane Coupe (previous shape) I got black hub caps (yeah it had steel wheels ;p ) and thought they looked pretty sweet on a red car.

Well, I eventually decided to clean my wheels but I defo fancy turning them black.... couple Q's.

What would be the best type of paint for a DIY job on alloys?

Would you have to declare it with your insurer?

No type, IMO. If I was getting it done, I'd get it done professionally :)

They'd have to be powder-coated to look right I think - not something you can do easily, or well as a DIY job.

Steve

All Black with the VRS logo on one of the spokes would look sweet.
