Jabbasport Stage 1 Upgrade

Featured Replies

Just been on the jabbasport site, and considering to get a phase 1 ihi conversion.

Have a few questions, hopefully someone can answer

How do I know if my octavia vrs 2003 is fly by wire or throttle cable?

I would choose stage 1 270-280bhp 265-275lb ft at

Daytripper,

you will be pleased to know that all vRS's are fly by wire.

Cant answer the other Q's but someone on here will.

In answer to your last question, day tripper...

Taking the standard conversion rates, 1BHP = 0.7457kWatts so then 280BHP = approx 209kW

According to the theory of the flux capacitor, you're well short of 1.21 GigaWatts ( 1,210kW), so theoretically, you shouldn't need one.

If, however, Jabba come up with a stage 6 - I think it would be a stage 6 by extrapolating the data currently available on the basis that 209kW x 6 = 1254kW - then the flux capacitor would be a definate requirement.

:p

In order:

1. By wire

2. Yes

3. Yes

4. Yes, unless you want the extra "security" of the 4 pots and dependent on what sort of driving you do

5. Yes, standard

6. sub 6, sub 14, max (170)

7. Tried eBay?

Can you get insurance for a car fitted with that lot? And are SkodaAutoFinance happy to let you modify a car that much since they own it until you have made the final payment?

dont tell them - or go LV.. they dont mind.

who gives a ****. skoda finance can forclose on mine if they want.. dont need it anymore...

:D

I don't think LV insure under 25s.

LV dont insure under 25's???

Don't forget to add fitting onto the price and a remap...price is just for the stage 1 kit IIRC.

If you are going to get the kit fiited why would you want your car remapped before hand?

IIRC correctly 280bhp is acheived using 0.9bar so you could get it mapped to up the boost and get more output, I guess. Give Mike a call and discuss your requirements.

Insurance is going to be a killer for this unless you have a real high excess. I'd shop around for your insurance first before committing.

liverpool victoria insure me and my sister i am 21 she is 20

 I had the same worries, but L.V are fine with me and my remap.

Must be lucky fabia. When I phoned them, they said they couldn't 'cos I was under 25 :(

difference between a 'performance' car and a octi glxi 1.6 combi and i am a member of the CSMA

I find it hard to believe LV doesn

Has anyone with a highly modded car had to claim yet?

When the insurance assessor came to look at my Subaru a few years back, he failed to spot the coilover suspension, stainless steel exhaust, or non-original (although genuine Subaru) wheels.

I doubt they'd spot a different make of turbo :)

They'll be on the lookout for 'Max Power' type mods.

For info.

My IHI'd Ibiza...

From 9psi it got 250bhp, 12psi got 286bhp

nice low boost.... nothing to much to concern a stock IC

I have grilled L&V on this with lots of "are you really sure" & Yep, as long as the cc dosent increase they dont care. ( Slips a 2 Litre in when no ones loking) Same with Modded Brakes, Suspension etc, No extra premium required, just keep reciepts for parts & Photos if possible all as proof they are on the car & they will replace like with like.

It all sounds too good to be true & cant last for ever.

I intend to go back to them as I believe a fully modded car is worth more than book value & I want to get an agreed value should I have a total loss. I will post once I have an answer

LV would not insure me due to my age as im 22.

Im not planning to do this until the car is fully paid for, however im planning to pay it off in advance, sometime next year. Does anyone know if there is a a claw back for paying it back in advance? 0% interest btw.

Badger your ibiza-isnt the max speed a bit low for 325bhp?

I was considering getting a remap first as i dont want to spend too much on the engine mods for now.

My priorities is to get some speedlines, a wrc spoiler, lowered by 1 inch. Uprated discs/pads.

sub 6 sec 0-60? for the spec would you say that is slighly underated, considering a remap would push it to 6.3 seconds, wouldnt the extra 100bhp shear another second off?

Thanks for the info people.

Found the flux capicator information very interesting, off to call my dealer to se if fitment invalidates warranty!

My skoda dealer that is!

I don't think its the Max speed of the car, more likely just the max speed achieved on that particular run, for measuring purposes ;)

It would take too long to measure the car's actual top speed.

oh right.

Howcome it would take too, i take it, that it is not as simple as popping the car on the rollers and keeping your foot down?

Ok, how long would you want your car thrashed for in order to get a max speed reading ? lol

I suppose, but i guess you could stop when the engine starts to smoke and opens a wormhole through the space time continum to 1955?
