So car failed on emissions not the smoke as he said looks more like fumes.

So me being idiot forgetting the decat fitted when got he car, if I fit standard one back on do you think this will solve the high CO reading??

A modern petrol engine won't pass an mot without a catalytic converter. I've never heard of it anyway. I would be looking into why the car is burning so much oil. It's top end rebuild needed by the sound of it.

What is the number required to pass the MOT and what value did you get?

About that oil burning. What kind of driver are you - do you drive the car hard or are you a fuel saver? Just heard a story from a guy who had this oil consumption problem (not on Skoda, though). He went to a dealer and he suggested him to drive harder (the car had automatic transmission that used to choose low rpm). He didn't believe much in that but as the alternative was rather expensive engine repair, he decided to have a try. For some time he switched to manual gear change and after ~2k km he managed to have no oil consumption at all.
