Direct Injection Intake Valve Fouling

Featured Replies

I thought this issue, which apparently affects all modern engines, should be factored in when calculating the long term true cost of vehicle ownership.

Has anyone had done any preventive maintenance done such as the use of this CRC product:

The problem with fuel additives is that it's very hard to find independent assessment of their performance. They sound like a great idea and they probably are useful, but when all you've got is the manufacturer's blurb it's hard to make an informed decision.

It appears it's not an additive but sprayed into the inlet manifold/valve face somehow......it looks like a pressure can.

The difference is rather academic here. My point still stands that without independent data you can't be sure of what you're buying and whether it will do the job.

I've hopefully made a start,   rigged a system to feed via the vapour canister line   the first "full auto" worked  until the engine switched off then the heat drove the cleaner back out of the reservoir and caused a spill as I didn't incorporate a one way (pressure relief) vent valve,   since I've done done it on a feed and fast idle method but what benefit if any is debatable  I used SEAfOAM   no smoke or anything to see (to kid me it was working)  :-)

That's always the case if your car DOESN'T fail.

So many endorsements claim a product has saved them from a mechanical failure and is used to further promote its mystical power.
