Reverse light fault

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a brand new VRS with a fault on the dash telling me to "check left reverse light" I have done this (Bulb was still good)and replaced bulb but still this fault comes up. The fault comes up when the car has been in reverse for about 30 seconds or so, when the error is displayed on the dash the rear left reverse light does not light up. When the error is not displayed the bulb does light up.

I have attached a picture of the code read using VCDS.

Has anyone experienced this or know how I could go about trouble shooting it.

I have made some changes using VCDS so these are playing on my mind so I am planning to push them back to standard and see if the problem goes.

Changes made:

Footwell lights installed and coded

LED number plate lights installed and coded ( Dimmed but I have removed this now to see if this was the cause)

Hill start assist coded

LED interior lights installed throughout, including footwell lights (No coding required. . . I hope)

Have you checked that the bulb type is correct for the left reversing light in the leuchte programming adaptation channels?

Look at adaptation channel Leuchte28RFL LC11-Lasttyp 28 and compare it with Leuchte29RFL RA64-Lasttyp 29 -> they should both be allgemeine Gluhmaple 27W: auch H15.

Checked above and all is in order !!

Your problem is probably on the lightbulb, try to clean the bulb and the fitting, see if it Works now.

Had this problem a few times myself, bulb o.k., no light, cleansd it , all o.k.
