Superb H7 headlight upgrade

Featured Replies

I have just purchased some H7 led bulb upgrades for my projector headlights. I was going to do HID instead but realised I didnt have washer jets and knowing my luck ill get the finicky mot tester.

Anyone else done theirs?

You would probably have been better to stick were 'performance' halogens such as the Nightbreaker or XtremeVision.

Most drop in LED bulbs have rubbish beam pattern so might give more foreground but tend to have less distance light where you actually need it. You should also be aware that the BCM fitted to a MK2 Superb is known to be fragile when it comes to aftermarket lighting. There is a risk you'll damage the BCM and need to replace it by using HID/LED lighting.

Your drop in H7 LEDs won't be road legal for a number of reasons, this may or may not cause MOT issues:

- LED lighting requires self-levelling

- If the LED lighting is above 2000lm, you still need washer jets

- The headlight projector is certified for an LED light source, only a H7 halogen bulb
