Front Right Low Beam Light Not Working

Featured Replies

Hi,

Last weekend my front right low beam light stopped working. I've swapped the ballast and bulb with the left side and the left works and right still does not so its not the ballast/bulb.

I've looked at the fusses under the hood. The left light seems to have a huge fuse and the right a small fuse (going by the car manual). Both look ok. Removing the right and replacing it does nothing. Removing the left turns the light off so its the correct fuse.

The dash comes up with a warning to check the light so the system knows there is an issue.

Where do I go from here?

I've borrowed a VCDS, maybe that will show something tonight...

Cheers

Check fuse 11 in the dashboard fuse holder.

Thanks Wino, checked all fuses and all are ok.

Just to add to this, I found the rubber cover missing from the back of the light. looks like some moisture has got in. Not good....

The VCDS gives the errors below. The "00907 - Intervention load Management" might be due to running the lights and VCDS for ages without starting the car.

Wiring issue, likely down to corrosion?

Thanks for these. The '907 Intervention load Management ' has gone away after I started the car and drove it. Must have been due to leaving the lights etc on too long.

The 979 error is still there.

I've looked at all the connectors I can see and they don't look corroded. Any ideas on how to check the wiring using multimeter?

hi. how did you fix the issue ? i have the ssme proble on my left headlamp. everything works except for the low beam(dipped beam). the bulb is fine, but i haven’t checked the ballast because i cant really reach behind the headlamp without taking the bumper out.

Hi Pete, I ended up buying a ballast off ebay for about AU$35. Has worked fine since then. Note: it was a pain getting the light out (have to take off quiet a few bits), but better then $$$ for mechanic. If it dies I'll just get another one...
