N/S/R Door Lock

Featured Replies

So I've got a failed lock motor and of course it's deadlocked and the door cannot be opened.

I've completely stripped the door right back from the inside, checked all the wiring and I'm left with a door I cannot open in order to replace the failed lock.

Nothing seems to work, I can move the actuating arm on the new lock but moving it does nothing on the existing lock so it must be baulked.

Does anyone with relevant experience have any suggestions?

Seem to remember seeing on here somewhere about getting the dremmel out to remove part of the casing to get at a cog or something to release it.

Finally got the door open, had to resort to a lump hammer and cold chisel, smashed the outer face of the lock body until the trunnion assembly popped out, whereupon the door could be opened by pulling the internal release cable. ******.

I'll fit the (already tested) new lock and reassemble the door at the weekend in daylight, only broke one of the trim clips getting the door card off so should be a doddle.

I'm in the same boat . Where did you get your lock from ???
