2010 Skoda Octavia 1.6td Estate. I have noticed the gear change becoming stiff, almost as if its metal against rubber. This happens after the car has been running for a while, its ok when cold. When dropping from 5th it can be difficult locating 4th or 3rd. I have read in other articles this could be down to the gearbox oil. Could someone please let me know what gearbox oil and how much I require to do an oil change.

Probably best not use KY Jelly on your stiffy, Lol.

Doesn't sound a lube problem as you experience it only when warm.  How many miles have you done? as it could be dmf or clutch related. 

 

But if do want change the oil use either genuine vag gear box or Fuchs titan sintofluid 75w

I rate this oil very highly. Used it on my Mk1 vrs and the change was lovely. And nearly half the price of the genuine stuff.
