Anyone got an O3 vRS with a sunroof?

Featured Replies

Hi, I booked my vRS into the dealers because the sunroof was rattling like crazy. I've got the car back and the rattle's been fixed, but I think they've forgotten to put a bit of trim back?

As soon as I got back in the car, the sunroof somehow looks different. The bar at the front of the sun blind is now brushed ally, but I could have sworn it was black? Also, with the blind fully retracted, you can still see part of blind behind the bar (the bit with the sunblind handle). See attached photo.

Please could you take a look at your sunroof/blind and see if it's the same as mine?

The mechanic doesn't remember removing any trim and all he did was "lubricate the mechanism"

Thanks,

Mike

Estate or hatch? Mine's an estate, will take a look.

Mine's a hatchback. Either I'm going mad or there's something different.

Incidentally the photo was taken with a flash, the headlining is black, but it looks a bit grey in the photo.

Thanks for looking

Mike

Just been out to check.

My 230 Vrs, Hatch, ( 66 plate ) is the same as yours, Brushed Aluminium, black handle and when the blind is full open you can still see it.

I have a black headlining, all looks normal to me.

Hope that helps

Thanks Auric, much appreciated. Must be me going mad then

Still think its a bit odd you can see some of the blind behind the brushed ally bar though, never noticed it before...

Anyway, thanks for the prompt reply, all I've got to do now is ring the dealer and let them know I got it wrong

Mike

Yeah mine is brushed ally. Cant work out what angle your photo is taken from though, or what you're referring to as the sun blind handle. Is yours estate or hatch?

The Brushed aluminium bar has a Black plastic  shaped handle, Think thats it.........

The picture is taken from the drivers seat looking at the passenger side rear of the sunroof by the looks

The Sunroof is electric but there is a Blind in the headlining, it's opened closed manually

Yours must be permanently open ( the blind )

Hmm, not on my wagon. T'is all electric

So i'm guessing this must be a hatch roof then? And is it a regular sun roof or a pano? (I dont know if they do a regular sun roof)

Sorry, this isn't helpful for OP, but helps my knowledge!

 It's a Panoramic Sunfoof

So does a pano roof cost the same on a hatch as on a wagon? Can't help thinking you get a bit reemed on a hatch if that's the case

Anyway, you can see brushed ally edge on my blind here

Hatch roof is cheaper. Looks like you have a full length Pano Roof where as the Hatch gets a three quarter pan roof.

I can see why your blind is eletric as if you have yours fully open you would never reach it

Wooh, you look away for an hour and there's another dozen posts!  Wasn't expecting a question about sunroofs to generate so much interest

Really nice to see that people take the time to answer though, thanks everyone :)
