Featured Replies

hi again i have a vrs deisel fl so can anyone comfirm if the side should work or not because in a ealier post about something else i was told if u have drl's which i have the side lights dont work and if i checked there would not b wired up but i checked earlier and they are wired up but they do not come on just my drl's

Light switch in the off position, just the DRLs on with the ignition.

Light switch in the sidelight position (assuming you don't have auto lights), DRLs off and side/tail lights on.

ok mike how much for u to check for me ?

Mikes answered the question, you just need to walk to the front of the car and have a look. The "bulbs" at the top of the headlight are fitted for show (fill the gap) and will not work.

OFF - bright DRL

SIDE - dim DRL

HEADLIGHT - dipped headlight and dim DRL

Another fun thing to do is to set the car to drl in the pitch black then walk a little way away and have a look back. They are soooooo bright. Hence dimming down when set to side!

Aww, come on - I never charge for looking at other members' cars, never had and never will! Get yourself over here, have a brew with us and I'll have a look through everything you want doing that I can be done. One thing I can do is activate the second rear foglight, as I have VCP as well as VCDS, but that's out on loan for a couple of weeks at the minute.

PM me to arrange a suitable time!

Mike

Thanks I will pop over yes I have notice I only have 1 rear fog I thought it was a bulb out when u get that back I would love to meet up as could ucide out my light as it's on because of my led number plate bulbs  thanks Kevin

The bulbs and wiring are there, but they are not active on any VRS.

I will stand corrected Mike but I don't think the wiring is fitted, the bulb is there to fill the bulb holder, but as I said I will stand corrected.

I seem to remember a few years ago that a briskodian actually wired them in so they worked.

Hi the wiring is there to the bulb holders I just checked mine yesterday

There is wiring in the headlight for the sidelights as it's the same headlight unit as the non-vRS.

However, there isn't any wiring between the headlight and the BCM (controls the lighting) so you can't normally turn them on without extra wiring and coding changes.

Thanks for the info langers, I thought the wiring wasn't complete, but do remember someone has wired them up so they work
