Fabia 1.4 mpi 8v coolant leam

Featured Replies

Hi i knos there are a few threads on this but not sure any cover my exact problem.

I have been  loosing coolant from the drivers side with a drip like a tap  It appears to be coming from the radiator or one of the pipes to the left of it i have checked the drainage tap on the passenger side and seems tight and dry aroubd it,  so dont thibk its that  leaking.  The radiator or one of the pipes slightly steams sometimes which im guessing is from coolant touching something hot?

I have had a new thermostat and the  car gets up to temp as it should and does not overheat, radiator blows hot air.

There are no bubbles or hiss of pressure from expansion tank when cold.

Any advice would be great ill try and get a pic up later

Cheers

Definitely sounds like you need a new radiator, they all leak after about 10 years.

The temp sensor in the bottom corner of the radiator can leak too. Check it's tight.

@tmb where is it located exactly?

Bottom right of radiator I think.

Bottom right as in passenger side?  If so my problem is on drivers side

Oh the sensor is on the pass side I think. Sorry about that.

Yep, thermoswitch is a few inches above the bottom hose connection.

Nothing on the (RHD) driver's side of the rad to leak except the rad itself as far as I know.
