How to fix broken wear pad sensor

Featured Replies

Okay so took my 2009 Skoda Octavia elegance to my local mechanic for new disks and pads all way round , he established after peeling away tape as a bodge repair a horrible butchery of a plug on the cars wiring loom ,

The problem for mine is found under the passengers side, front bake , some versions have it at the rear, drivers side I've heard.

there's two ways to fix this, first cut wire and solder in a pre wired version. However this option looks repaired . I don't like the repaired look , so i went with OEM .

The part no. Your looking for is ref. 1j0973802

This can be used for things like wiper motor brake pad sensor boot latch and brake light.

(side note, part is available cheaper from a local dealership than online, i paid £3.01, average price at ebay £3.99)

Easy really;  if yours looks like mine, take away any plastic buy new plug , fit wires, jobs a good en , ( use the pink plastic clip to help align the connectors, then remove it by pulling with pliers)
