Traffic programme Volume

Featured Replies

Does anyone else have a problem with the volume of Traffic Programmes? I generally listen to the radio with the volume set at around 45% and when the Traffic programme kicks in the volume is commensurae with the radio volume. When listening to BBC podcasts on a SD card I have to turn the volume up to about 80%. When I am listening to a podcast and the Traffic programme kicks in it nearly blows my head off and there is a scramble to turn the volume down. Is there a way on the current Columbus to set the TP broadcasts to a preset volume?

My downloaded version of the manual (Superb anglicky 11.2016) indicates that there is a specific setting for this, unfortunately the hard copy manual (also Superb anglicky 11.2016 but differnet to the downloaded version?!) that came with the car (delivered 1/3/17) gives no advice on volume control. There is an option to set the volume of 'announcements' but this doesn't help (not sure what 'announcements' are as apart from the sat nav the car doesn't talk to me?). Dealer couldn't help. Any ideas?

My octavia is the same.  It would be good to find if this is possible.

I thought you just turned the volume down during a TP announcement and that was it set?

I have the same problem.

When I download a podcast, I use Audacity software to increase the volume before transferring it to my USB memory stick.  Even so, I still get excessive volume on traffic announcements.

I suppose it would be helpful if the Beeb could produce podcasts with a decent volume level, but you should still be able to adjust the TP volume. All my previous cars have had that facility.

Yep, I've had the same thing and I've got the Swing radio.  It seems to set the TP volume to a proportion of whatever you're listening to, and I've had exactly what you describe with some quieter MP3 files needing the volume up.  Don't think it's had the same effect if I'm just listening to music louder.  Have tried changing the fixed volume level to the Aux/Bluetooth inputs with no joy.

Nope,  it gets reset for each announcement.

There is a Setting in the SETTINGS Menü for Volume... u can even set the Volume of the Parking sensors...

I have an amundsen and I haven't been able to find a setting for the TP volume, unlike the navigation announcements or parking sensor volume.
