Loss of PAS

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

This morning while travelling on the M5 I lost power steering. The traction control light flashed briefly then a few beeps and the power steering light came on red and stayed on. I pulled onto the hard shoulder just to read the manual to make sure driving it wouldn't damage anything, it recommended driving it for a short while anyway so I drove the rest of the way to work (10 miles or so I reckon). Going to take it to a dealer later but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue?

Certainly gave me a bit of a workout when it came to parking it...

Battery going flat i.e. alternator issue?

This happened to me on a non vag once.

The alternator had died so battery went flat

Doubtful, all of the other electrics worked for the rest of the journey. It's only 2 months old...

Can't believe I didn't think of that... That's what getting up at 5am does to you I guess. I'll have a look later
