Ecu Torque Limiter - Details Please

Featured Replies

On the "What mods..." thread is mentioned the the ECU limits the torque -

After the Upsolute tuning to my 1.8t the car feels accelerating in two steps - up to 3500rpm then once again at abou 4500rpm

Note that I requested Upsolute to provide me the map offered for RS - 212hp instead of the one normaly offered for 4x4 196bhp

here are my questions:

1)- this two step (uneven) acceleration is due to the fact that is not a customized remap or because the torque limiter comes in?

2)- Over here we measure torque as a product of force and lenght [Nm] - somebody mention a limitation @ 300lb/ft - imperial - how much is that - since my tuned car suppose to output 295Nm?

Thx

Robert

If you have a specified max TQ of 295nm and the limitation is at 300bs/ft that isn't the problem. 300lb/ft=406nm

1 lbf/ft = 1,355 82 Nm

The uneaven powerdelivery is probably because of the chip.

When I think of it I think you are right. My RS had a similar problem and went to the dealer to sort it out. They replaced the n75 and the powerdelivery is much smoother than before. Unfortunately I lost my drivers licensce for speeding before the n75 was replaced so I haven't been able to try the car that much. Btw, my car is also chipped(hohenester sport).
