recaro monza nova 2 seat fix or britax romer kid fix 2 child seats compatibility.

Featured Replies

Hi,

narrowed the next car seat for my daughter down to the two listed in the title, primarily as they scored the highest with Which? .

I like the recaro as it looks cool and seems to have lots of side impact protection, likewise the britax has some cool features to secure the seatbelt in which kind've has my attention a tiny bit more over the monza nova.

Has anyone had any experience with either of these seats?

Any feedback welcomed.

I have this one

Britax Romer KIDFIX II XP SICT Black Series

Very pleased with it. The recline function is a bit fiddly. Love the strap that goes round the seat belt to spread the pressure. Our son has good naps in it which is a key feature for us!

No experience of the recaro seat stayed with britax as already had an advansafix

Britax x2

We have had the Recaros (the IS version) from group 1 and other than they are a bit wide (good for side protection, bad for anyone trying to get into the middle seat) can't fault them really. They have lasted well.

We got them for the group 1 crash pad which seemed to give the best forward facing protection when they were too big to face backwards, but now they have outgrown that they still like the seat.

You can get accessories for both seats  We have the Recaro summer cover and footrest which although are stupid money are worth it. The cover keeps the seat clean when they are mucky and can be whipped off when they go back in clean. The foot rest reduces (not stops completely) the kicking of the back of the seat.

Either will be a good seat they are both good makes, they just do things slightly different ways that is all. The Britax has that belt guide, the Recaro has slightly more pronounced lower guides that keep the belt in place. Just different

What ever you get, get a cheap seat protector to go under it, saves the car seat under it no end.

The in-laws have the advansafix, we were pondering this one as it goes up to 25kg for the 5-point harness but our daughter is tall for her age and is already at the limit in terms of length which is why we're getting a group 2-3 rather than 1-2-3 seat.

They seem like good seats, both scored highly in the Which tests so I think it's just going to come down to preference more than anything else as they're quite similar in price.

My biggest concern was that they don't fit into the car at all, thankfully they do based upon your posts!

I'll be heading to either Mothercare or John Lewis this Friday to order one of the aforementioned seats, basically whichever one they can get hold of quickest and one that the sprog can't escape from easily will be purchased.

I have the Recaro, it's quite nice, but you have to remove the headrest otherwise the back is too straight for my son comfort .
