economy remap vrs octavia 2011 petrol

Featured Replies

Wondering if there is such a map for this car, searching I'm only finding stage one maps which don't mention economy.  May well be economy maps are only for the diesel version.  Would love to hear any experience of some of the slightly lower powered remaps for this car, under 250hp, as the insurance would be reasonable with this increase and i would worry about clutch too if i went for the max power maps.  cheers guys.

Hi, an effective stage 1 maps allow you to drive using earlier increased torque - so if you drive say between 1500-2500 rpm you should see a saving. I don't think you have any transmission worries with a stage 1.

also looking at two mk 2 tfsi petrols on friday.  a lot of different tuners get very good reviews, I'm leaning toward an economical shark sts at the moment as i can do it myself and it would be under the 25% for the insurance.  My main wants are smooth acceleration and some more power, anyone able to comment on this map?  or is there something better?

I think I would look at buying a used quality 2/3 channel tuning box - should be able to get one for around £100-150.

I know lots of ppl don't like these boxes compared to a remap but they work very well !!
