a couple of probs with my new fabia!

Featured Replies

hello to you all!

i have just recently become the owner of a fantasy green fabia (not everyones taste in colour but i love it:thumbup: ) and i must say what a brilliant car it is the quality is amazing.

i need some advice on a few things that just dont seem to be right - 1. when the car is ticking over (not moving) the car is shuddering:confused: is the only word i can describe it as. i have changed the spark plugs and had a new coil pack put on it but still no joy and have been told it might be a engine management problem.

2.the rear jet wash has stopped working and the water is coming out from underneath the engine i think it might just be a loose pipe but how do i get to it as it doesnt seem very easy?

it is still under warranty so any work wont cost me but any advice would be great!:)

The washer problem is common! Take it in and the service bloke won't even take off his jacket to reattach it

Not sure about your tickover problem though, sorry!

Edit: Welcome to Briskoda BTW

dont know if this will help but i had the same "shuddering" problem with my fabia vrs on tickover when i put a tuning box on it. the munufacturer said it was because the box was set too high and therefor the car was over fuleing.

any advice is a help mate! i have been told by the garage that it might be the accelerator, ecu and the engine not running in sync with each other so it will need recalebrating (spelling???) what ever that is?

Mention of spark plugs would point to this Fabia being petrol-engined! I would take it back to the garage asap for them to fix. Did you buy it from a Skoda dealer and, if so, does it have the standard Skoda Used Car Warranty?

i was going down the overfueling road and only used mine as an example.
